Adoption Conditions

Responsibilities of the Dachshund Dynasty

  1. Pet health record: The seller has provided the buyer with a health document for his pet, which documents the dates of all age-appropriate vaccinations and anti-parasitic treatments.

  2. Guaranteed optimal health from whiskers to tail: These puppies are guaranteed healthy and free of genetic diseases at the time of purchase. These puppies are free of FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus) and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Both mother and father have been genetically tested to ensure that the puppies are not carriers of HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) or PKD (polycystic kidney disease).

  3. Three-Year Genetic Health Guarantee: If your puppy dies within three years of the date of purchase due to genetic or birth defects, Dachshund Dynasty will replace the puppy with one of similar or higher quality. Dachshund Dynasty must receive proof of the defect in the form of a complete necropsy report completed by a licensed veterinarian. Dachshund Dynasty is not responsible for any costs associated with the necropsy. If, after reviewing the results, it is determined that the death was covered by the guarantee, a replacement will be offered as soon as possible.

  4. Contingencies For Feline Replacement: If the seller replaces a puppy for any of the reasons described in this contract, the seller is not obligated to replace the exact color or pattern. Dachshund Dynasty will do their best to go above and beyond to accommodate the buyer’s request for a replacement. We will offer a total of up to three puppies as a replacement for the initial puppy for buyer to choose. If the buyer turns down all offers by the seller, they forfeit their right to another puppy. There will be no cash refunds.

  5. Pet Registration: All puppies are sold with FINDEFIX pet registration. Pet registration means your puppy can be registered with FINDEFIX; however, offspring are not eligible for registration. Pet registration occurs once Dachshund Dynasty has received proof of neutering from the buyer.

Obligations of the buyer

  1. Exceptional Welfare: Buyer agrees to take good care of our puppies, feed and house them properly, give them the necessary vaccinations, keep the puppies indoors at all times, and not de-claw them. Buyer agrees to provide the puppies with appropriate physical and emotional care and welfare. In the event that Buyer is unable to keep the puppy for any reason, Buyer agrees to give Seller the first opportunity to pick up the puppy.
  2. Care Costs: Once the puppy leaves Dachshund Dynasty’s premises, responsibility for the puppy’s care, including but not limited to vet visits, lab tests, vaccinations, medications, surgeries, or time off work, is solely the Buyer’s responsibility. Dachshund Dynasty does not approve or pay for any medical care.
  3. First Vet Visit: The puppy must be examined by a licensed veterinarian within 3 business days of picking up the cat from Dachshund Dynasty to ensure the puppy’s health status at the time of Buyer’s takeover. Dachshund Dynasty must receive a dated copy of your veterinarian’s health evaluation within 10 days of receiving your puppy or this guarantee will be void. If, after the initial examination, the buyer’s veterinarian concludes that the puppy does not fit the description of Dachshund Dynasty’s Whiskers to Tail Optimal Health Guarantee and therefore has a serious illness or deformity, the buyer has 10 days to return the puppy at their own expense and send us the written veterinary report. If our veterinary examination of said puppy matches the documentation in the buyer’s veterinary report, the buyer will be provided with another puppy of equal or greater value. This guarantee does NOT cover minor ailments such as upper respiratory infections.
  4. Neutering (Spaying or Sterilizing) of Puppies: For health and safety reasons, we require that your pet be spayed at seven months of age. Female and male puppies should be spayed at 5-7 months of age. A credit card authorization will be taken and a $2,000 fee will be charged if proof of spay/neuter is not provided within seven months of the puppy’s birth date. This puppy’s spay/neuter paperwork must be submitted to Dachshund Dynasty at ________________. When my credit card is charged, I will provide proof that I spayed the puppy between five and seven months of age and a $50 processing fee will be charged. FINDEFIX pet registration will be provided once Dachshund Dynasty receives proof of spay/neuter from the buyer.
  5. Vaccinations: Buyer agrees not to vaccinate these puppies against FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). Buyer agrees to only give the puppy one vaccination per day and to always request killed vaccines.
